Rolling, Rolling, Rolling........RR at WAGS

What you see here is the end result of 3 seperate transactions. There is a total of 8 Progresso soups, 8 Dove hair products, 3 Alka Seltzers 2 Robitussin, 3 Bowl Fresh and 3 caramels.
In order to understand this process, you must understand what RR means. Register Rewards are basically instant rebates that are ussued at the close of a transaction by manufacturers to thank you for buying their products. Here is an example of the walgreens weekly flyer

You will see that there are two offers on this page for Register Rewards.
If you buy $20 in DayQuil or NyQuil you will get a $10 Register Reward. This is given to you at the close of the transaction, the total for the products must be $20, that is before coupons. So you would buy 4 of this particular product, in one transaction, and you would use coordination coupons, in this instance I am going to use 4 $2 off coupons, which is going to make my OOP (out of pocket) cost $12. I will acutally pay the $12, and at the close of the transaction, I will recieve $10 in Register Rewards, that I can use to purchase other products.
Now the tricky thing to register rewards at WAGS (Walgreens) they do not "roll."
Rolling is when you use the register rewards to buy the same products over and over and receive a register reward each time. At WAGS they don't roll, so if you get the $10 RR for purchasing the DayQuil, you can turn and duplicate the order. However you will not receive a $10 RR at the end of the second transaction.
The way around this, to use the $10 RR on another group of products that offers a RR, make sure that the second group is not from the same company. If it is, you may not receive the RR.

This is the result of 3 seperate transactions, ending in 8 Progresso soups, 8 Dove hair products, 3 Alka Seltzers, 2 Robitussins, 3 bowl fresh, 3 caramels and  $3 RR.
I am on my way to WAGS to use this $3 RR to build an additional surplus of items,
I will post a picture and an explanation of what I did and how I did it.

I started my next trip to WAGS, not with this $3 RR, I had other plans for it. I started out with 3 seperate transactions, with each I purchased a box of Liptons tea on sale for 2.99 and  a Theraflu for 3.99. I used a $2 off coupon for the Theraflu. My total for these 3 transactions was $5.35 each tax included. Each transaction yielded a $4 RR, $12 RR total, meaning that I had $4.05 OOP expense so far. That isn't bad for 3 boxes of Liptons and 3 Theraflus.
Next I used the Vick's promotion, buy $20 in products receive $10RR. I purchased 4 Vicks DayQuil 20 packs for the sale price of $5 each. That gave me the $20 threshhold, I combined the sale price with (4) $2 off coupons. This brought my subtotal to $12 (keep in mind that it does not matter what you widdle your cost down to with coupons, the register recognizes that you have $20 in products so that you will receive $10 RR) I then used my $3 RR from last week, and my total was then $9 plus tax.
I then turned and did another transaction, this time I wanted to take advantage of the Pepsi offer. Purchase $20 in Pepsi products and receive $10 RR, I choose the (5) 12 packs for $15, and I had planned to get 5 Gatorades for $5. However I got really lucky, the Tiger Woods gatorade was on clearance for 50 cents, so instead of 5 I was able to get 10! I also picked up 2 pairs of Bratz shades on clearance for the seven year old. A covergirl nail polish for mom, on clearance, and 2 caramels as fillers in order to use all my RR without the register beeping at me (I will teach you how to "count" your items so that you can use all of your coupons and RR in one transaction without beeping). I ended up paying $7.66 OOP tax included, not bad for (5) 12 packs, 10 gatorades, 3 liptons, 3 theraflus, 2 Bratz sunglasses, 1 nail polish, and 2 caramels and I still got $10 RR! Unfortunately I used all of my Gatorade coupons at Bi-Lo to get 6 FREE gatorades, so I used the $10 RR and (3) $4 RR from earlier to pay for. I then did another transaction, yes this could go on and on, but this is the last one for this trip the Diva is tired! I did the Vicks deal again, and paid for part of it with the $10 RR from the Pepsi deal and used (4) $2 coupons once again, making my final transaction $4.26 tax included, and I have a $10RR to start next weeks shopping trip.
