Time and time again I heard this excuse," Well I tried to cut coupons, I bought a paper every Sunday, but I just didn't save that much and it wasn't worth my time."
Let me ask you one question, and take the time to think of the answer.
When you buy canned green beans, do you only buy one can? No, you buy multiple cans as you do with most items. So why wouldn't you need multiple coupons, in order to see a savings?
I personally get up early every Sunday morning and purchase 20 newspapers, in addition to printing online coupons such as those available at the top of the blog. I choose to buy 20 papers, I use to buy 4, then 5, then 6, 10, 12 and now 20. My number continued to increase because I found myself paying full price for additional items. Even if you are not currently using coupons, you have some idea of how many of each item you purchase on your average shopping trip. I would advise buying that number of papers, to begin with. If you find that you are purchasing more items than you have coupons, bump up the number of papers being bought. For instance, if you buy an average of 4 of each item, main items not milk or tubs of butter, you should buy 4 papers.
If you find a great sale, and need more coupons than you have, click here to have them delivered to your mail box.
I know that 20 papers sounds so overwhelming, but once you get into a groove it is just as easy as doing
one.
I seperate the inserts into piles, as you can see I even keep the sale circulars for the craft stores. I enjoy arts and crafts and each one of those papers have a 40 or 50% off coupon. I now have 20 copies of that as well as my coupons.
I take the 20 inserts and lay them on the table so that I can flip and turn each stack to the same page in order to make just one cut.
My favorite thing to use is Sortkwik, this allows you to pick up the pages easily and quickly.
