Advantages of Shopping Mulitple Stores

As a consumer you can maximize your savings by paying the lowest price for all items on your grocery list. This can be done by compiling a price log, some of the very savvy shoppers do this, I myself do not. I have used coupons for so long that I know what store has the lowest everyday price on most items. However I could certainly cut my bill even more if I took this additional step.

The price log is a list that shows the lowest price paid for an item and the store to purchase it at, this is done by reviewing your receipts and taking notes as to where and how much you paid for an item. This is a little more tedious, and I do not suggest it to the novice couponer. Do not overwhelm yourself, simply cut and shop. As you become more familiar you will naturally take on these more advanced habits in order to cut your grocery bill significantly.

Now back to the advantages, I know that A*** is the cheapest store for canned goods and most often times produce. This store does not accept coupons, however, the savings are so tremendous that it does not matter. You will find that this may be the situation in several discount stores in your area. Always take a moment and evaluate if your are loosing money or making money. If you could buy a national brand with a coupon cheaper than the discount store offers their product, by all means use the coupon at the other store.

It is advantageous to know what the coupon policy is for the store that you shop, if your store doesn't double coupons daily, and the one across town does, you may need to make the trip across town. However, don't be fooled by double coupons, or triple coupons if the items are so overpriced that it really wouldn't make a difference. If you feel that this is too much math, and too complicated just to use a coupon, take a little calculator with you and keep right on shopping. Also some store, as mentioned before, offer store coupons that can be stacked with a manufacturers coupon for double savings. Stacking equates to stocking! Stacking is using a store coupon conjunction with a manufacturers coupon, this is possible because the store offers one and the brand offers another. FYI You cannot use two manufacturer coupons on one item.
