I had someone ask me the other day if they could save money using coupons and still buy only brand names. Well, I guess you could I never really thought of it that way. I buy what is going to give me the most bang for my buck, whether it is common household name or a store brand.
I purchase whatever brand pays me to purchase their brand, in other words, if a brand routinely provides a coupon, I routinely purchase their product. I don't buy name brand canned goods, because I can never find coupons for those products. I purchase the Aldi brand canned goods, because they are half the price of the Green Giant, or.......its been so long since I purchased the name brand I don't even remember the name.
Some people buy name brands because that is what they were raised with, some because of the misconception that if I pay more it will taste better. Either reason, why continue to spend money that you could be saving. In most cases the store brand, or the brand that you do have a coupon for, is similar in taste. If you find that you are not impressed with the lesser price item, and the store offers a money back guarantee, as most do. Simply take the item back and ask for a refund, most stores offer this for their store brands. You may find that you like the store brand, and it is significantly cheaper than the national brand.
75% of all coupon users are people who fall into the $20,000-50,000 income bracket.
